Every once in a while you find a website that at first glance seems so very weird, but the more you think about it, the better an idea it is. Enter One Cold Hand, which is the brain child of Jennifer Gooch, takes one simple idea, loss of a glove and tries to re-unite the glove with it’s owner. Like I said, when I first saw this site I was like, how dumb is this? But think about it, how many times have you gone out and brought a very nice pair of gloves, spending upwards of 25 bucks or more, only to lose one of the gloves, rendering the other one worthless. For me this happens constantly. I can’t tell you the number of times I have had this happen not only to me, but also my friends and family. Too bad it only deals with gloves from the Pittsburgh area, but a great idea for a blog or website anywhere in the US. Heck you could even set it up as a singles site, where it would be a Cinderella situation, bringing back the glove instead of a glass slipper. Maybe I’ve just had too much caffeine this morning and I shouldn’t be blogging 🙂 Anyways, use Jennifer’s site as inspiration to start your own and re-unite lost gloves with their twins.
Let’s face it, as far as search engines go, it’s either Yahoo or Google for about 95% of the population. Sure there are other search engines but the ones people know about are those two. Did you know that you could type in identical searches and get completely different results in each one? Well now you don’t have to switch back and forth between the two search engines, now that there is GahooYoogle. What this site does is ask you for one search term, then runs the search in both Google and Yahoo. The results are then sent to you with a split screen. Yahoo on one side and Google on another. See the screenshot below to understand what I mean:
As you can see this has the makings of a great tool during searches where you don’t have to flip back and forth between tabs. So have at it, see what you can dish out and compare the results, sometimes it’s fun to see wear sites rank on each search engine.

Now we all have heard of Google and Yahoo. Some of the more savy surfers have tried Ask and Dogpile. I used to like Excite myself. The point is everyone has a search engine they use because the Man has ingrained it in our head . . . Google is good, keep using Yahoo . . . The point is there is a better way. Google and Yahoo use a fee based system, the more you pay, the higher your website is appears in searches. Wouldn’t it be great to find a site that is unbiased? Well as you have probably guessed by now, thats what this post is all about! The site is StumbleUpon. What StumbleUpon has done, is take where it’s group of users have gone and rank them in popularity. In other words, the creme will rise to the top. Therefor the websites you come across on this site might be some of the most interesting on the internet. So go over there, sign up and start Stumbling. You’ll find your internet experience will become a lot more fun this way.
