Come on admit it, you’ve gotten the FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD:FWD:RE:Check this out! email. You’ve gotten in from mom, brother, sister, wife, girlfriend, best friend and they swear it’s true. But you just can’t believe that a cat can weigh 30 pounds. I mean you see the picture but come on it has to be photoshoped. Well, thats where Snopes comes in. Snopes is a huge search engine that either debunks or validates those pesky chain emails. Here are some examples:

– The ambassador in Congo will pay you 20,000 bucks if you just loan him 200. (False)

– People are getting your debit card info from ATM machines that they have attached skimmers to. (True)

– Did this guy live? (You’ll have to go to the website and see)

So before you foward another chain email, be sure to visit Snopes and stop the reckless forwarding of untrue emails.
